Our classmates may be gone, but they will never be forgotten.

Northshore School District and a dedicated group of community members worked together to create a memorial honoring Northshore students who gave their lives serving in the United States Military. The memorial was built near the entrance to Pop Keeney Stadium and is comprised of a granite monument and bench.

 

The memorial honors the following service people:

Submitting Names of Fallen Students

If you know of a Northshore student who was killed in action and while on duty, please contact VFW Post 4314 at Qm@vfw4314.org.Β  Please provide them with the service person’s name, high school, last year and grade level of high school, and proof of eligibility.

Eligibility requirements include having been a Northshore student, killed in action on active duty and while on duty.

Names will be added to the memorial on an annual basis.

 

The Memorial

The monument is made of granite and is engraved with the five emblems of branches of service will be below these quotes.

“In Memory ofΒ our fallen Northshore School District classmates who lost their lives fighting for our country. They gave the ultimate sacrifice, and we will be forever thankful”.

β€œIn Honor ofΒ the men and women from Northshore School District who have served honorably and courageously to protect our freedoms and liberties while serving in the Armed Forces of the United States.”

Supporting our efforts

The memorial is 100% funded by donations from the community and grants from Veteran’s organizations.Β  The original monument was completed and dedicated on May 27, 2019

VFW Posts 4314 and 3348 have teamed up with Northshore Schools Foundation to continue to raise funds for the maintenance and updating of the memorial
