Cara’s Corner

I want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing connections we made this summer. It was a busy but glorious July and August and we loved seeing old supporters and making new friends at all the events we attended.

We were thrilled to see everyone who waved to us in the Bothell 4th of July Parade or visited our table at Bothell Children’s Concerts, Kenmore Summer Concerts, and Celebrate Woodinville events. And THANK YOU SO MUCH to the 30+ volunteers who helped us at events as well as packing and delivering backpacks with school supplies in them!

I also want to acknowledge the amazing Northshore School staff who are important partners in backpack registration and delivery.

With the assistance of Care Team Liaisons (staff who work with the Foundation all year to identify students in need of financial support) word about our backpack program is spread to the families who need it most.

The Office Staff at each school are instrumental in ensuring all students who signed up for a backpack receive one as well as offering extras to students who did not know to register. THANK YOU! Without you fewer students would start the school year prepared.

We want to Remove Barriers, year-round!

What is Removing Barriers? It’s one of the Foundation’s pillars! We believe that everystudent deserves the chance to succeed academically, no matter their abilities, learning style, cultural background, or economic situation.

Want to learn more about Removing Barriers? Click here to learn more.

With your help, we will raise $20,000 this fall to remove barriers farthest from educational justice! Your support will help break down barriers and provide more equitable access to ALL students.

We also want to celebrate the 2024-2025 school year. It marks our sixth anniversary of partnering with the Northshore School District with our Care Teams.

Care Team Liaisons are dedicated staff members in all 36 schools and programs who identify students in need of financial support.

This fall, we invite you to donate so we can continue this vital partnership and ensure we remove barriers for Northshore students in need, year-round. The average amount of support for a student is $100-$200
