Results: 30th Anniversary Spring Fundraiser Gala
We’re enthusastic! We had a successful and exciting fundraiser gala on Saturday, March 29th to celebrate 30 years of being the Foundation for the Northshore School District.
Total raised: $84,000 – All for Northshore students, educators, and classrooms! We couldn’t be prouder!
Foundation staff and Board members thank every attendee, sponsor, and partner, we couldn’t of done this event without YOU and your support!
What will we do with the funds raised?
The total raised includes $24,200 from Raise the Paddle, which will be fully dedicated to classroom grants!
These funds will be distributed through the Foundation’s Enhancing and Inspiring Grants mission pillar the week after spring break. A total of $31,000 will be awarded to 30 NSD educators across 15 schools, including $7,000 specifically for Title 1 schools. We are also excited to support early learners in four Head Start classrooms, during this Spring round of grants.
Other funds raised will make an immediate impact in our service work:
Removing Barriers to Education | Mission Pillar
We will help students access educational opportunities by providing funding for fees for school activities. Last year, we provided $5,000 to help more than 30 students in tuition and materials support (sleeping & duffle bags) for 5th-grade camp. This school year, we have already provided $25,000 in similar support and are preparing to assist families facing graduation expenses.
Building Skills for Life | Mission Pillar
We will help Muse Headbands, our Gala’s featured grant winner, upgrade equipment, expand their program to Inglemoor High School, and mentor the founding students in creating a three-year sustainability plan for the program.
Additionally, we continue to support the C.P. and Dorothy Johnson Awards, which honor two students from each of Northshore’s 36 schools and programs for their role as exemplary friends and mentors.
Summer Meals Program
Your generosity will also help fund our second year of partnership with NSD’s Family Engagement Center and other community organizations to provide free meals to Northshore families in July and August.
