06 Apr Northshore School Foundation Raises over $135,000 and Counting at Annual All In For Kids Fundraiser
Bothell, Wash. (March 31, 2023) – The Northshore School Foundation’s annual All In For Kids fundraising event was a resounding success, raising over $135,000 and counting for the organization’s ongoing efforts to enhance and inspire learning potential, remove barriers, and build life skills for Northshore students. The event, which was held in person and streamed online on Thursday, March 30th, featured a variety of speakers, honorees, and performers.
Emceed by Jake Whittenberg of KING5 News, along with members of the Foundation’s Youth Advisory Board, the event underscored the Foundation’s crucial role in supporting Northshore schools and students. Newly selected Superintendent Michael Tolley praised the Foundation’s investment in 256 classroom libraries and early adoption of programs and support that will be accessed through the district’s new Family Engagement Center.
Laney Brackett, a senior from Inglemoor High School and founder of Teen Self Health, shared her mental health journey, encouraging everyone in the audience to prioritize self-care and the value of listening. Her remarks praised the Foundation’s role in legitimizing her organization and for being an organization that listens to students.
During the event, Hanisha Bakshani, a North Creek High School parent, was honored as Volunteer of the Year for her work as the lead Ambassador for the Foundation, while Holly Herbison was named Innovative Educator of the Year for her work bringing books into Kenmore Middle School that include diverse topics and are relatable to the middle school population.
Donations raised during the All In For Kids event will help sustain the Foundation’s ongoing work serving more than 23,000 students.

The Foundation’s next large-scale event is PROM, which will be held on April 29 at The Lodge at St. Edward State Park from 7-10. This event will offer attendees a chance at a do-over if their original prom was not as great as they expected it to be, complete with food, beverages, corsages, and dancing. It promises to be a fun evening for all.
