Cara’s Corner

Spring at your Northshore Schools Foundation was busy and joyful with honors ceremonies, graduations, symposiums and music performances for May is Music Month. We are so proud to celebrate Northshore students! We were especially proud to once again sponsor the C.P. and Dorothy Johnson Humanitarian Awards. It was a moving ceremony in which students from Pre-K through High School were honored for being leaders in compassion and community building in their schools.

We are also proud to stand with the Northshore Schools through the difficult decisions that had to be made in-order to create a balanced budget. Our commitment to partnering with the school district to fill in the gaps has never been stronger. We are here to help ensure that ALL students can participate fully in school by removing barriers to education.

Students from families who are financially struggling will need our support more than ever this coming school year as budget cuts lead to increased fees for many school activities, some of which (like 5th grade camp) are mandatory. This summer we are getting students in need ready for school with our annual Backpacks for Kids event and we will continue to support them fully participate during the school year through our partnership with the Care Team Liaisons. Liaisons are school employees who work with the Foundation to support students in need at every school level. There are Care Team Liaisons in each of the 36 Northshore Schools and together we removed barriers to student participation and food insecurity for 342 students.

As we move into our 30th year of operation, in 2025 we will be 30 years old! We are excited to take a look back at the impact we have had and dream of the students and programs we can support in our next 30 years!

May is Music Month Concert Series:

We Celebrated Northshore bands and musicians!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who attended our three May is Music Month concert series. We had performances by SAS Rock Band, IHS Jazz Band, and WHS Jazz Band.

We understand music education is important to Northshore students, staff, and families. That is why we celebrated, and will continue to celebrate, music within the district.

A big THANK YOU to all the donors! Special shoutout to 192 Brewing who donated their venue space for our concert series.

Thank You Emily!
The Foundation proudly honors Emily Fisher for her invaluable contributions to the Northshore Schools Foundation over the past nine years. Her guidance has elevated our organization and inspired our donors.

Emily’s unwavering dedication to our mission and values has made a life-changing impact on thousands of Northshore staff, educators, students, and programs. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors!

We were honored to celebrate and sponsor the Northshore School District‘s C.P. & Dorothy Johnson Humanitarian Award for the sixth consecutive year!

On Monday, May 21, 72 exceptional Northshore students were recognized for their outstanding humanitarian efforts.

The award was established in honor of two educators who dedicated their lives to improving the lives of all children in our community. We are honored to join the Northshore Schools District in celebrating students who are living lives that exemplify the tenants of this award, Acceptance, Community, and Advocacy.

City of Bothell’s Fourth of July Parade

Foundation staff, board members, volunteers, and Jackie the dog had a blast marching in City of Bothell’s annual Fourth of July parade. We greeted attendees, handed out candy, and gave big smiles to everyone as we walked in the sunshine!

Best part? We marched behind Northshore Summer Music school as they played harmoniously. Plus, we had style with a ’66 white Mustang in our group thanks to Board Member Dyana and Jon.

Thanks to everyone who cheered us on!
