Crucial funds from Boeing have helped ensure student access during the pandemic
Bothell, Wash. (March 3, 2021) – As school resumed this fall, students got back to work virtually. Fortunately, Boeing was there with crucial funds to help ensure students’ digital access and technology support. Their $5,000 sponsorship has been used to help provide Northshore students with necessary remote learning supports, including headphones and hotspots, that could not be funded through regular school budgets.
“We know that school building closures during COVID-19 have exacerbated serious equity issues with children of color, children from low-income families, and differently-abled children experiencing the most severe impacts on learning loss,” said Dawn Angus, Boeing Global Engagement – Puget Sound.
Throughout the pandemic, sponsors and community donors continue to ensure that the Northshore Schools Foundation can meet student needs in the most urgent and relevant ways. The Foundation works closely with but operates separately from the Northshore School District, and all Foundation activities are privately funded.
“What we do would be impossible without sponsors like Boeing, who step up to support students across our district,” said Carmin Dalziel, Executive Director, Northshore Schools Foundation. “When we put out the call for help, we’re so grateful that Boeing was there with a rapid response.”
