Backpacks for Kids | Every summer
The Northshore Schools Foundation proudly hosts the annual Backpacks for Kids school supply drive each summer, beginning in July. Since 2018, this initiative has supported Northshore families and students in need, with an anticipated 700-800 requests each year alone.
Through the drive, we gather school supplies and monetary donations to assist Northshore students in need, thanks to the generosity of individuals, teams, businesses, and public and private collection hosts.
Donating school supplies and backpacks
The Foundation gratefully accepts supply donations of any size or amount year-round from individuals, teams, and businesses.
We only accept brand-new, unopened supplies in their original packaging. Both major brand names (e.g., Nike, Puma, Adidas, etc) and private labels (e.g., Kirkland Signature, Staples, etc) are welcome. However, we cannot accept items featuring local or custom branding.
Here’s a list of the school supplies we’re currently seeking:
- Fun, Colorful backpacks for K-5 students
- Sturdy & larger backpacks for 6-12 grade students
- Crayons
- Glue sticks
- Markers (fine & wide) and highlighters
- Blunt tip scissors
- Pencils, colored pencils, and erasers
