All In For Kids at Northshore Schools Foundation

“Having the support of the Foundation, especially at the beginning, when we weren’t really sure what was going on, was really a lifesaver.

It gave us that hope and vision that we were going to get through it.”

Sheila Guard, Bothell High School

Foundation Friend,

Wow –  $236,132 raised to serve Northshore students and teachers!

As you know, the Foundation’s All In For Kids fundraising event was held virtually on Thursday, April 8th with an extended campaign running through April 23rd. Our goal was to raise $275,000. Donors contributed more than $219,000 during the event, and as of Friday, that total had risen to $236,132.

Donations sustain ongoing work serving more than 23,000 Northshore students, teachers, and staff. As we look ahead, our priorities remain the same: to enhance and inspire learning potential, remove barriers, and build skills for life.

During the past year, this has translated into things as diverse as library books, grocery gift cards, basic school supplies, Career Day supports, classroom materials, internet hotspots, hotel stays for displaced families, and so much more.

As the work continues, this funding is key to the Foundation’s readiness for what’s coming.

We’re very grateful to every single person – parents, NSD leaders, teachers, business owners – who have given so enthusiastically. We will continue to look at ways to maximize every dollar we’ve been trusted with.

So many of our Northshore neighbors are enduring personal hardship on top of the COVID-related restrictions everyone’s been experiencing. That makes teaching and learning extra challenging. It sounds like a cliche, but I can tell you that our students, teachers, and staff truly need support more now than we’ve ever seen before.

As Foundation board president Anthony Moran has said, when a need exists in the district, we want to meet it as it rises. We will keep doing that to the best of our ability, as funds allow, as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We’d love to know what you thought of the All In For Kids virtual event. Would you be able to take five minutes to complete this survey? We’ll use your feedback as we plan the next gathering.

Thank you again. We’re so glad that you’re part of our Foundation community.

Sending Joy & Gratitude,

Carmin Dalziel, Executive Director
Northshore Schools Foundation

P.S. Does your employer match philanthropic gifts? If so, don’t forget to submit for yours!

P.S.S. If you were not able to attend the event live, a recording is available on the Foundation’s YouTube channel.   Our YouTube Channel is relatively new, so we could really use your subscription so that we can activate the full resources allotted to a channel that has met the subscriber minimum.  Thank you for considering.
