Removing Barriers to Education
We offer essential resources and monetary support to current Northshore students and families facing economic challenges through our Removing Barriers to Education programs, including the Opportunity Fund, Basic Needs Aid, Homelessness Services, Backpacks and School Supply Kits, and Student Meals.
These personalized financial support programs help eliminate educational barriers that public funding cannot address. The Foundation believes every Northshore student should have the chance to succeed in the classroom, no matter their abilities, learning style, background, or financial situation.

How We Remove Barriers to Education for Students
Opportunity Fund
The Foundation’s Opportunity Fund covers services and fees students need to succeed in the classroom and reach their full potential. We provide financial support for activity fees, clothing, field trips, transportation, ASB cards, college credits, and more.

Basic Needs Aid
Basic Needs Aid offers short-term financial support to help restore stability during a crisis. When a family faces hardship, daily routines are disrupted, and Northshore students may struggle with attendance, coursework, and behavior. This monetary support helps families buy essentials like groceries or fuel, allowing them to focus on finding a long-term solution.

Homelessness
The Foundation collaborates with Northshore Schools District’s McKinney-Vento Homelessness Services, assisting families experiencing homelessness. Our funding helps ensure that students and their families receive the necessary resources and support during challenging times.

Backpacks and School Supply Kits
Backpacks and School Supply Kits are offered to current Northshore students who are unable to afford the essential classroom supplies. These kits help ensure all students have the materials and supplies they need to succeed academically, regardless of their financial situation.

Student Meals
The Foundation covers unpaid meal balances, ensuring current Northshore students receive healthy meals so they can concentrate on their studies. We understand that families in crisis may struggle to pay meal balances, leading to debt and added stress.
