Calling for Kids Phonathon

School Volunteer Recruiter
  • Description: Recruit volunteers (by school) for the Phonathon

  • Skills Needed: Organization & Leadership

  • Time Commitment: 10 hours (approx.)

Phonathon Caller
  • Description: Call parents to tell them about the Northshore Schools Foundation and request a donation

  • Skills Needed: Good telephone skills & attention to detail

  • Time Commitment: One 2.5 hr shift during the Phonathon

Gift Processing Team Member
  • Description: Sort and process gift forms/prepare mailing to donors

  • Skills Needed: Attention to detail/ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Time Commitment: One 2.5 hr. shift


Light a Fire for
Learning Community Luncheon

Planning Committee
  • Description: Help plan the event, recruit table captains and work with Event Planning Class at Inglemoor High School.

  • Skills Needed: Leadership, planning and organizational skills

  • Time Commitment: 1.5 hr committee meetings each month for six months prior to the event. Additional preparation time as needed.

Table Captain
  • Description: Recruit nine friends/colleagues to join you at the luncheon.

  • Skills Needed: Passion for public education and understanding of the need to support district-wide programs

  • Time Commitment: 2-4 hours assembling guest list, calling potential guests, following up with attendees going to the luncheon.

Grants Program

Classroom Grants Volunteer
  • Description: Review grant applications and help make funding recommendations.

  • Skills Needed: Critical thinking, objective attitude, attentive to detail.

  • Time Commitment: Spend approx. 2 hours reading grant requests once a year. Attend a grant evaluation committee meeting once a year for three hours.

Office Generalist
  • Description: Help prepare mailings and provide miscellaneous office support.

  • Skills Needed: Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Time Commitment: Variable

School Coordinator, Northshore Schools Foundation
  • Description:  Represent the Foundation at your individual school. Work with the Foundation and its Board to promote the programs and activities of the organization. 

  • Skills Needed:  Planning, organization, and leadership. 

  • Time Commitment:  Approximately 2 hours a month during the school year.
